The fine print, plainly
Your privacy,protected
How The Natural Path Collective collects, uses, stores and protects your personal and health information — in plain English.
Who we are
The Natural Path Collective is a naturopathy, remedial massage, infrared sauna and NDIS support practice based in Hamlyn Heights, Geelong, operated by Alanna Cottrill. We are committed to protecting your personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles, and the Health Records Act 2001 (Vic).
What we collect
To provide safe, personalised care we may collect:
- Contact details — your name, phone number, email and address
- Health information — health history, current medications and supplements, test results, treatment notes and progress records
- NDIS details — plan information, plan manager or support coordinator contacts, and service agreements (NDIS participants only)
- Payment records — invoices and receipts (we do not store card numbers)
- Website enquiries — the details you submit through our contact and booking forms, and basic analytics about how our site is used
How we use your information
Your information is used only to deliver and improve your care: assessing and treating you safely, keeping accurate clinical records as required by law, processing bookings and payments, invoicing plan managers where you ask us to, and contacting you about your appointments. With your consent, we may occasionally send practice updates — you can opt out at any time.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information. We share it only when you ask us to (for example, with your GP, specialist, plan manager or support coordinator), when the law requires it, or with the trusted systems that run the practice — our practice-management, booking and accounting software — each bound by their own privacy obligations.
How we store and protect it
Clinical records are held in secure, access-controlled practice-management software hosted in Australia where available. Paper records, where they exist, are stored securely at the practice. We retain health records for the periods required by law (generally 7 years from last contact for adults, and until age 25 for clients seen as children), then dispose of them securely.
Your rights
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw consent to non-essential uses at any time. To do so, contact us using the details below. If you believe we have mishandled your information, you can complain to us directly, and to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au) or the Health Complaints Commissioner (Victoria) if you're not satisfied with our response.
